Absolutely. This is designed for solo travellers and small groups. You'll be added to the crew WhatsApp group once your reservation is confirmed.

Once your payment is complete, you'll join this month's WhatsApp crew group and start meeting fellow sailors from all over the world right away.

The group is primarily in English, with a Chinese-language group also available — whichever you're more comfortable with, you won't be left out.

Take motion sickness medication an hour before departure. Sailboats are far smoother than speedboats — most people are completely fine.

Weather: If conditions aren't safe for sailing, we'll reschedule you to another session first.

Payment peace of mind: Today you only pay the reservation fee NT$1,180; the boat fee NT$2,700 is paid to the captain only after your session is confirmed — so there are no additional charges before that.

Reservation fee NT$1,180 (paid to Taipei Weekend Social):
Non-refundable — your ebooks, crew group, and Social Night perks are delivered the moment you sign up and stay valid long-term (join trips in the group through the end of 2026; members get partner pricing on future activities).

Boat fee NT$2,700 (paid to Captain Mike):
Paid to the captain in the group only after your session is confirmed, with a receipt available. No charges before that.

Taipei Weekend Social and Captain Mike partner together but each handles their own portion — separately, transparently, and with full integrity.

Each session sets sail with a minimum of 8 people, up to 20. If we don't fill all spots, we'll merge with Captain Mike's other guests — you'll still meet new people either way.

Absolutely. Life jackets are provided and guest liability insurance is included — no extra cost. Water activities are completely optional. Sitting on deck and taking in the view is a perfectly great way to spend the day.

Captain Mike makes the call based on sea conditions, and I'll notify you in the crew group right away. With his years of experience, cancellations are rare — but when the ocean says no, we listen.

We'll do our best to help — just reach out as early as possible. The sooner you ask, the better the chances. We can't guarantee a swap, but we'll always try.
